  • January-March 2000: IBM MQSeries Workflow Development Lab
       Boeblingen, Germany
       As a Student Programmer in Patrick Steiner's team -
       Requirement analysis, design and implementation of sample
       programs for the MQSeries Workflow API (C, C++ and Java
       programming languages) as a service for Workflow customers.
       Compiling and testing of the samples on multiple operating
       systems (HP, Solaris, Windows, OS/2). Concept, writing and
       implementation of user-friendly HTML documentation for the
       samples in teamwork with colleagues. Packaging and
       readying for rollout in teamwork with programmer of VisualBasic
       samples.
     
  • June-August 2000: IBM Voice Systems
       Heidelberg, Germany
       As a Student Software Engineer in Wolfgang Karbstein's team -
       Requirement analysis, concept and implementation of a
       prototype for a speech-driven application for accessing Lotus
       Notes mails via telephone. Design of a suitable dialogue through
       the use of VoiceXML and SRCL, implementation of a stable and
       functional prototype with Java Servlet technology, IMAP/POP3
       mail interface to a Lotus Domino mailserver and IBM ViaVoice
       speech recognition technology (Telephony API). Proposal for a
       possible future evolution of the prototype to a customer application.
     
  • January-March 2001: IBM PvC International Solution Centre
      
    Hursley, UK
       As a Student Software Architect in Michael Coleman's team -
       helping to design, implement and present various projects in the
       area of pervasive computing, such as a demo voice application for the
       Miele Showcase of this year's CeBIT and a voice-controlled Home
       Service Gateway utilizing a Pocket PC.

       Writing of diploma thesis in Bill Bodin's team. The topic is
       "Implementation and Integration of Embedded Speech Technology
       into a Plethora of Pervasive Computing Client Scenarios".
